Stoney B Acres, located in Bernardston, Massachusetts, is a 180-acre horse farm that
has been owned and operated by Val Deane since 1972.
The farm offers a variety of equestrian services from horseback riding lessons to
boarding and training. We specialize in lessons for children, with the emphasis on safety
and fun. Students are encouraged to learn hands-on, and at the end of each lesson are
given time to untack their mounts, put all equipment away, and brush their animals. And
of course, the horses always welcome carrots for treats!
The farm offers two outdoor arenas with one lighted for evenings, and there is an indoor
arena for use during inclement weather. There are also multiple private riding trails on
the property available for boarders.
We have six Massachusetts state licensed riding instructors who teach at the farm, and
lessons are offered seven days per week. We teach all levels of riding from beginner to
advanced, both English and Western disciplines. We also hold several clinics and horse
shows during the course of the year. (See our Calendar for a listing of clinicians and
dates).
We invite you to visit the farm and check us out! No appointments are necessary to visit,
but riding lessons do need to be scheduled in advance. All we ask is that you leave your
own pets at home as there are several dogs on the property and a flock of free-roaming
guinea hens!
